About Me
I'm Rosalie. I am also known as, Rose, Rosers, Dr Lochner, and Mom. I am the middle child of 4. Back in the day, my mother would recruit me to help cook family meals and make huge batches of cookies for Christmas presents and pans of brownies for PTO events. I have been collecting and perfecting family style recipes ever since. I love foods that are earthy, rustic, (sometimes) sweet and always wholesome.

Food is my love language. When my kids were young, I used nap time to do most of the prep for our meals. Today, I cook many of our meals with chairs and step stools lined up next to me to support my eager to helpers. It is my hope that my elevated and streamlined family recipes will help you share food with your family, roommates, neighbors and friends.
About Food
This family supports local farmers. At our house we try to eat locally grown (and minimally processed) foods. We do not eat much meat and we're working on consuming less dairy. While I still shop at a chain grocery store, we prioritize shopping according to the seasons, we eat what we grow in our small garden, and we purchase what we can through our CSA, local butcher, and Detroit’s Eastern Market.

As this blog evolves, I hope to highlight many of the ways that we can support local farmers and local food. I believe that eating local food is one of the easiest ways to elevate what is on our plates.
